It was predicted before now, but it is apparently now official, Google bought Youtube, and is jumping on the Web 2.0 Bandwagon.

I was browsing at the warrior forum, and I found that Google did it.

It was just announced in the Wall Street Journal subscriber alert moments ago.
According to the WSJ "Google Agrees to Buy YouTube In Stock Deal Worth $1.65 Billion"

I don't know which value Google will receive through owning youtube, but it is something to follow closely.

Apparently 60,000 new videos are uploaded to youtube each day!

I don't know how Google will monetize Youtube though.

I saw myspace homepage for the first time yesterday!

I just moved from Dubai where Myspace and Youtube are blocked sites, and I will now be able to go and tell you about my adventures in those community sites.

I didn't post since a while, because I was travelling, but I am back, and I will be exploring these 2 sites and let you know what I think and what I feel.

I will try to upload some videos as well, and to explore other community websitres like orkut and others. I have so many friends who already have a profile at my space that it will be difficult to catch upo and invite them all.

I know that many people don't understand the web 2.0, Social Bookmarking sites and communiy websites. I am just trying to make this easier for them.

I just discovered what is called video blogs(also called vblogs or vlogs). What is amazing is that thousands of people now are downloading and watching those video blogs on their PSP's, PDA's, cellular phones, and laptops.

Almost everybody now has his own his IPOD, and is able to watch those video blogs. I dowloaded itunes, but I am not using it that much, I don't have time, but I think I will get into it soon.

If you have website, and you don't have enough traffic, you may consider RSS Feeds.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary".

When I post on this blog, or my other blogs, I immediately inform other sites that my blog has been updated. They will receive my latest headline and a summary of my last entry, or the full entry.

The files that publish the RSS feed are in XML (widely accepted standard).
Fore example, the feed for this blog is http://easyideas.blogspot.com/atom.xml . I changed this original feed given by blogger to feedburner.com feed, and it is now:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/NetMarketingSecrets.

For me, RSS Feeds is important, because it allows my readers and other websites to get my last content instantly.

For you, the reader, you just need to look at the headline in your RSS reeder (also called aggregator), and if the headline is interesting for you, you just click to visit this website!

Did you get the idea?

It is a huge time saver for you, the reader: you do not need to visit each website or blog that you like to read or bookmarked in order to see if the webmaster updated the site.

You just look at your reader, and in less than 20 second, you see all of your prefered sites and decide which one is worth visiting today.

You save a lot of time like that. I know how it is overwhelming to go through all your bookmark, and find for your site, then, see where is the new content. It can take hours, and it is the reason why nobody is doing that anymore.

Have a quick look at your RSS reader, and that's it: You instantly know what's new at your prefered websites.

Important: you choose the sites that will be displayed in your reader, and noone else.

If you are just starting, you can use (like I do) Yahoo RSS Reader. It's really simple to use.

With the RSS technology, you have the most of the web and your prefered websites. You don't want to miss something new, or an important and time sensitive information in your market, or hobbies!

Another famous place to create your for feeds is Bloglines.

Don't worry, RSS and XML can scare someone like it did to me in the beginning, but it is simple.

The Blogger community use feeds everyday, but you don't need to start blogging to benefit of the feeds if you have a business. you can also display feeds on your website.

This is really amazing, three days ago, I downloaded some video of Aikido and Silat for my Self Defense Program Blog, and I was about to add more and more videos, including UFC, and others but guess what? Yesterday I tape Youtube in my browser, and voila: Site blocked!

So I am trying to stay up to date, but without skype and other new services, it's difficult.

What really ennoy me if the absence of VOIP, but happily, I can call with MSN messenger voice feature!

I don't even know what myspace homepage is. I hope I will have access soon.

I've just find a new feature in technorati: Technorati Mini
You will get a mini pop up window updated every minutes about your favorite subject or any URL of your choice.

View constantly updated "conversation" in a mini window on your desktop.

It's a very interesting feature to stay at the top, and it's good for bloggers, because you can have tons of informations about your subject right on your desktop.

I am interested in montessori education, and I will monitor that from my technorati mini, and I hope to learn more about montessori and how that kind of education can benefit children.

It's hard to stop blogging, and the web 2.0 make that even more difficult. Beware of becoming Web 2.0 addicted.

Technorati New Style

I didn't log into my technorati account for 2 days,cause I am on several projects, and I try to stay focused... Even my cellular is off.

When I logged in, what a surprise, Technorati has a totally new look. This one is ok, but for now, I was doing well with the old design.

After 5 minutes, I checked all the features, and I couldn't find: "Who's blogging about 'tag'". However, I think I was able to find what I was searching for easily before.

It seems to be harder know. It may be only a false impression.

I will see over the time, but I think the new design is better; it seems more like the other social bookmarkong websites now.

I thought that they added a bunch of new features, but right now I don't see the changes except the design. I hope that our blogging life will be easier.

Pingomatic VS Pingoat: Solution

Pingomatic is getting harder and harder to ping. I may have the solution. I found on one of my favorite forums that every wordpress blogs are configured to ping pingomatic by default.

That's a lot of blog, really. That's why there is delay sometimes when you ping pingomatic.

My Solution is to ping Pingoat instead. It works very well. You may get a message which says that your site is black listed, but don't worry, it is only a feature to fight against spammers. You don't like Spam right?

Another solution, if you have a wordpress blog is to add that list in your wordpress control panel and add that list - given by Paul Short - to your automatic pinging list:

Stumbleupon.com is becoming more and more popular. StumbleUpon lets you "channelsurf" the best-reviewed sites on the web.

It is a surfing tool for browsing, reviewing and sharing great sites with like-minded people. This helps you find interesting webpages you wouldn't think to search for.

Someone introduced me to Stumbleupon website, a Social Bookmarking (a Firefox plug in add-on) website which is under the radar since 4 years.

Stumbleupon has 1 million registered users from Mozilla Firefox.

It is working with Firefox, and I had difficulty to register, you got to add Firefox Add-on, and you should be fine.

It will soon work with Internet Explorer too.

Socializer, a Great Way To Bookmark Your Site To Several Websites.

Brian just made a comment on my previous post, about Socializer, when I asked for an easy way to Tag my new posts, because when you own several blogs, you don't have time to loose. You know what I mean.

If you are a Webmaster, you will get the code to let people bookmark your site.
If you are a publisher, you will have the ability to bookmark your sites to all Social Bookmarking sites with one click.

Actualy, you'll just need to drag the link provided to your bookmarks toolbar, and when you find a page you like, just click on the link to bookmark your page.

You will be able to bookmark it to most of the social bookmarking site in the previous post list. The Web 2.0 is making our surfing life easier.

Back to Connotea home page, You can see the tags that Connotea users are currently reading about. Like in technorati tags, it is the same principle.

If you click on one of those tags, you will be able to see the recent posts about a particular topic.

It's easy to add a bookmark once you are logged on.

Connotea Community Profile:

I like this feature. I have just edited my profile. You can also browse the other users profile, which is great; as you can find people with common interest. However, I didn't see a way to contact someone.

To create your own profile page, follow the link from your library (your library is like your control panel.)

You can add your sites or blogs on this page too. It is a good way to advertise and get traffic.

If you want to do so, you may contact thae user via his site.

Connotea Toolbox

On the right side of your library, you can find the toolbox, will all the links you need to manage your connotea account.

Social Bookmarking: Connotea Day 1

I've just subscribed to a social bookmarking website which name is connotea.

At the first glance, it's not really easy to use, and it seems complicated, so I will do a small connotea tutorial to make it easier to use.

For today, I just registered and I found my first 'difficulty': OpenURL Links.

I don't know what is an Open Url Link. Hopefully, you can find out very easily on their site.

An OpenURL is a link, constructed to a standard format, that carries bibliographic information.

Do you remember the card catalog? Everything in a library was represented in the card catalog with one or more cards carrying bibliographic information.

OpenURL is the internet equivalent of those index cards. When someone clicks on an OpenURL link, the bibliographic information it contains is sent to a library internet service.

Digg: New Story Tutorial

Digg is a Social Bookmaking Site for all subject and categories!

I want to make a rectification to one of my previous posts, in which I said that Digg was a technology Social Bookmarking Site. It is not true.

So far what I've done?

As I was surfing these days, and saw that Digg was very popular on the net, I decide to come back and find more.

I've just added my last post on my money online blog: Tag & Ping Tutorial Part 3

I just Added the Title of my story (Page or Blog post), then I added a little description for my new entry.

There is a small touring number verification code before submitting.
(This one is OK, some time, the Touring number is so difficult to understand...)

I will monitor, and let you know how my web 2.0 traffic is going on.

Digg Interesting Feature:

They have a Blog this which is pretty good: you need to enter your blog setting and you will be able to post a story that you find intersting to your blog with only a click.

Blog and Ping: Pingomatic vs Pingoat

Pingomatic seems very busy these days. I don't know if the fact that I am in Dubai is for something, but I have difficulty to pong with pingomatic since a few days.

I am now pinging with pingomatic whenever I update my blogs, and I must say that I verry happy with pingoat.

For example, in my yahoo which I use as an RSS reader, I see the updates on my blogs immediately after pinging. It wasn't the case with pingomatic.

The web 2.0 is promising, and all of these new ideas and technologies make our webmaster and blogger life easier.

On a surfer side, the web become sweety (we webmasters are also avide surfers...).

P.S: Oops! I just went on technorat to see if one of my other blogs' ping was updated, but technorati is too busy.

It may be the world cup, people are searching from all the corner of the globe. I don't see any other explanation.

Social Bookmarking: Flickr & Digg

Still more traffic comingfrom Blinklist.

I just tried to register with Flickr, but from Dubai the site is blocked, so there is no way I can register with them.

I just registered with Digg, and I hope I will get some traffic from there.

In Digg, I did not find the same feature as Blinklist which allow you to import your existing Bookmark from Del.ici.ous. That feature was great.

I wanted to add My Digg Infos into Onlywire, so I can send my 'Story' directly to digg, but unfortunately, Digg is not featured in Onlywire.

I will have to do it manually until I find a new solution.

Stop! Digg is a technology news website. I just found that while I was trying to submit a new story. It is not a general Social Bookmarking site.

As I am not in The Tech world for now, I will stay away from DIgg for a while.

It's 2 websites for today: Flickr and Digg.

I hope tomorrow will be better...

Social Bookmarking Adventure int the web 2.0

Social Bookmarking is a new adventure for me, and the Web 2.0 too.

I added my site to Blinklist, and my Blogs traffic increased by 300% just because I am now tagging and pinging avery single day, only one time, for my blogs.

I would like to do it for all my blogs, but time is too short, and I don't want to use these automation Blogging sotwares, because I wonder Google does'nt like that, and it may hurt more than it help...

I learned somthing new about Technorati today: at the bottom of the screen, there are sponsored links coming directly from Furl. It's amazing.

I like this Web 2.0! It seems that it will really be easier for people to find about your blogs and websites.

My adsense earnings are increasing too, it's encouraging, because I was not making anything before last month...

I hope I will soon have time to really learn more about the Web 2.0.

Web 2.0: Tag and Ping

I must say that my tagging and pinging results went well beyond my expectation.

Tag and Ping bring you a lot of visitors. Most of them came from technorati, and I have also a lot from Google.

I also have a good click thru for my adsense ads, and I am not using spammy technique, but just showing my blogs to people who might be interested.

That's why I am blogging: to show you my blog. I did bookmark my blog posts only with del.icio.us and Furl for now.

I just found a very interesting Site: The name is onlywire.com it allows you to ping several social bookmarking site at the same time. Very interesting and time saving.

I just put their icon in my toolbar, and whenever I make a post, I click on it, and this post will be bookmarked in all my sites.

I like it. If you don't know it yet, Go now: Onlywire.com.

I am going to try BlinkList today, I'll let you know what I did.

Web 2.0: Technorati & Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking will make the web better I think, and I decided to investigate those services, along with RSS and everything that contribute to the Web 2.0.

I am happy that people will be able to evaluate Websites and Blogs, and decide if it is a good one, and then they can bookmark it.

However, I do not like that a lot of people will profit from that and Spam the Bookmarking sites, openning a lot of accounts, and bookmarking their own site hundred of times to fool people and let thwm think that there is a Buzz around these website...

Happily, the Social Bookmarking sites owners are also reading these books as everybody read it. Google staff also are reading these books, so those techniques happily will not last long till they find how to block them.

I hope that it will not hurt people (Bloggers and websites owners) with good intentions, and who only want people to read their blogs, what they want to share with the world.

And in the same time why not monetize your blog with adsense, text links ads, chitika and others? We all need money to feed our family. I don't see any harm in that. Leave your comment if you don't share my opinion.

I really want this blog being read on all the corner of the world. I hope it will happen soon. Nothing is more frustrating to write everyday and have nothing reading your posts...

I've read that some search engines and social Bookmarking site are usingthe rel="nofollow" to cut the stratagem of spammers which will SPAM the Social Bookmarking sites without mercy in order to get a lot of one way links in Google, Yahoo, MSN and others, to favorize their PR rank.

The Page Rank is determined by the number of votes your sites gets, and the PR of the site who is voting for you.

RSS: Pingoat,Pingomatic & My yahoo

Usually, I use to ping my blog with pingomatic, but today I ping another of my blogs with pingoat, and whrn I checked my feed in my yahoo, it automatically updated the feed!

I was surprised, as usually, when I ping with pingomatic, it is not updated in my yahoo, except after a long time(1 hour+/-)

So from now, I will be pinging through Pingoat, and to pingomatic too, and I will see the difference...

We continue with sphere: as I say, they claim to be one of the best search engine out there.

Here is what they say:

Conclusion:

I think they are just starting, as I just made a test with feedster and technorati, for a post I wrote yesterday, technorati and feedster gave me results.(I mean that they displayed my 2 blogs in their search result,) but sphere did not display my feeds.

As I can't continue with my BlogBurst review today, Let's talk about Blog Explosion. I registered with them one month ago, but the blog was a money making blog, so they rejected that blog!

Now, as I told you in a previous post, you know that Blog Explosion has been sold for a lot of money, and that a new management, composed of stephen Sartain and Lewis Johnston is there.

I am just taking their survey, it should be short( 3 mn) as stephen said.
As said, it was very short. (compare to some other surveys).

Today I will review BlogBurst, a new syndication service which just launched on May 2, 2006. It has been on pre launch since sometimes already, and I read some positive comments about it...

1)What is it?

You get this info Directly on their home page: "Increase your reach, visibility and readership by making your blog available to our network of leading publishers"

It seems to be their main subject. Their home page is a call to action, what a prompt invitation. I will put my URL in the box, and I will start with them, and see what I am able to do.

At the first glance, it seems to be a great service, and I will register after reading more infos.

Very interesting. By adding your blog to Blogburst (they must approve first), you will be exposed to a lot of good quality publishers. Those publishers will be able to put your feed on their sites, streaming directly from BlogBurst.

I found an excellent blog yesterday, the name is Problogger. I added it in my yahoo reader, and you should do that too. It is owned by an australian guy, he is in the Top 100's technorati blogs, and itr was on the first page at yahoo. I don't remember for which keyword. anyway... He is really an example for bloggers, I just looked in my yahoo, and he already made 3 new posts after a few hours.I will talk about it soon.

RSS Technorati: Last Day.

Today is my last day of Technorati tutorial.

I hope it was useful for you. I am happy, because my Blogs ranking is getting better.
I will finish with my prefered feature at technorati. It is the research by tags. I really like this one. You just click on tag ( a keyword), and you will find all the blogs which posted about this subject.

I mean that if you tape Forex, for example, you will see a list of all the blogs who posted about Forex, by importance. The importance here is the blog rank(the more links back to your Blog, The higher rank you will have).

Also, By claiming your Blog at technorati, you will get free traffic from the search engine.

Here is a Important Tip:
When you claim your Blog (Adding your Blog to technorati), Don't forget to add your tags. You can add up to 20 tags. How? In your account, just click on: Configure Blog, then you will be on the page to add your tags.

Before adding these tags, click on tag, and you will be able to see the "Hot Tags This Hour", and also the most searched tags.

I just uploaded a photo to my account, it will be displayed with my blogs ech time someone find it! I have a lot of pictures in my computer, and I don't really know which one to use. It's really easy, anyone can do it: you click Browse, then you go in your Picture folder in your computer, you click on the picture you want to add then click upload, and that's it.

I finally decided to upload a palm tree cartoon picture, as I leave in front of the beach (I can't leave at more than 500 meters than the sea...)

Whenever I need to think, I go to the beach...

Today, I am going deeply in the help section, and I just found the benefits of a membership with them. They call that claim your blog. In other words, register.

Membership and Blog Claiming

As a member, you can save your frequent searches in your Watchlist, claim your blog, upload your photo, add a description, and participate in Blog Finder. You'll also get your very own profile page, cool tools for your blog, and lots more!

Claiming your blog allows you to add your name, photo and description, list it in up to 20 categories in Blog Finder, and get cool tools for your blog.

# 1: I take the Quik tour.

Now, I will take their quick tour to have an overview, and I will come back to each important point after that.

There is only 3 pages, it's really fast, and very helpful. You got a very clear explanation of how technorati works:

What is really cool is that you can save your frequent searches in a Watchlist, so you have a easy way to see what's new with the stuff you care about.

There is a lot of interesting resources, like watchlist( add blogs to your watch list), Favorites ( your favorites blogs), and others. Nothing difficult, you will discover yourself.

Now I will talk about my account:
I see my blog and its ranking: 1,182,385. I have to work to give it a higher ranking, I don't know how yet, but I got to do it.

Wow, when I clicked on this number, I found to other blogs linking to my blogs! (well, the 2 blogs are mine actually...).
So you can also track who is linking to you! I like this feature, you also see which post is linking to you, and you can just click on the site title to view it.

Hello Bloggers and RSS addicted,

I am sorry, I didn't post since 6 days! I got to be more regular with my posts. I will try to post everyday now.

Today I will study www.technorati.com, because I subscribed there, and with my Sitemeter infos, I jumped from 0 to more than 50 visitors a week to this blog. I think that this amount of traffic is mostly due to technocrati and their system of tag and latest post.

I just checked the Alexa Rank, and it is 577. An excellent Ranking. Actually, the world excellent doesn't fit, as it is much more than that...
Why I am telling you about the Alexa Rank of Technocrati? The Answer is simple: You must get your Blog in this website to skyrocket your traffic.

Let me explain the whole process of this valuable site:

First, when you land on the home page for the first time, you are lost!

What I did:

#1: I tape my website name in the case, but it did not find it, and asked me to add this blog to my watch list. This is the exact message I got: "Sorry, there are no links to: PositiveAttitude4life.com/blog" ( another blog of mine).

#2: I am tring to figure out what the heck is this website for? After 2 minutes, finally I found!
Technorati's Goal I to let you search, explore the blogsphere, read the hottest and latest post from Blogs all around the world on any topic!

#3: After knowing that, I felt much better, but I was still lost, so I decided to click on HEEEEELP...

I found the help page very friendly, and I understood the whole thing about technorati:

RSS Feeds Day 3.

Welcome back,

I am Getting more tips everydays, I really like to learn. This is what I did last week:

After reading the articles I post in a previous post, I submitted my blog 2 yahoo.com.
I signed up in my yahoo page, and I was now able to see my feed in direct. as I am registered with Feedburner.com, I don't need to notify yahoo of my blog's update, because Pingshot notify automatically, almost 30 minutes after I published my post.

I am Surfing with Firefox, I am a Firefox addicted... I wrote an article on Firefox, you can read it Here: My Firefox Article.

Why I am telling you that? Because I have discovered that you can also read your feeds in your Firefox Browser!
I didn't know that when I wrote the article, so you will not find anything about feeds in the article.
I will add that you just need 1 click to save your feed in your Live Bookmark in your personal toolbar. Really easy...
How: when you are on the site, you see a small orange sign in your browser(on the right side). Just click on it, then a popup window will apear: save as Live Bookmark.

Tip: Create a folder for all your feeds in your Personal Toolbar, Keep organized.

So now I know how you can read your feed with a web based newsreeder (aggregator).
I use both my yahoo and Firefox to read my feeds...

Hello,

I am in trouble these days, My computer is crashing every 5 minutes, I am just trying to save my important files and documents...
Today I am going to leave it for repairing.

About feeds, I am making some progress.
This is what I am doing now step by step:

# 1: I burned my feed at www.feedburner.com .

# 2: In feedurner, in publicize, I activated 'Pingshot'. It is an automatic ping service. It's Excellent, I tested it, and It notify yahoo without me having to do anything.

This is how it works: Feedburner will verify your blog every 30 minutes to see if you updated the content, and , PingShot automatically notifies directories and aggregators when you publish new content in your feed So you don't have to do it manually.
Notfies services lke pingomatic and others...

# 3: I signed up with www.technorati.com, a very good service for your blog, you can search blogs according to keywords(example: business, kitchen, Dogs...), and you can see which blog was newly updated on one or more of your favorite subjects.
You have a lot of friendly feature. I like this service, and I am going to sign in after I finish writing.
The first day I signed it, I already got some visitors to my Blog!

# 4: This is the tool which let me know thee visitors I had from technocrati; you can get it at www.sitemeter.com . A very efficient tool.
You will know:

* Who visited your blog
* His country
* At wich time he visited
* How many time he stayed on your blog
* how many pages he saw
* from which url he came
* from which page he left your blog
* and lots more...

I was surfing all the day to find info for you about those, it's not easy to find a good website or blog on that subject, but finally it's here:

What is a feed?

A "feed" is a summary of Web content that is updated on a regular basis. It allows users to keep informed of a Web site's latest changes. RSS is a format which means Really Simple Syndication (RSS) 2.0.
Feeds help website owners to make content more accessible, and they allow surfers to easily see new content. A summary or "headline" view lets you quickly scan recent content changes, and headlines are linked to their appropriate content.

How to subscribe to this feed?

Before you subscribe to a feed, you'll need an RSS reader or aggregator to view content in RSS. Several free and commercial RSS readers are available on the Internet. Once you have an RSS reader, right-click on an RSS link, copy the URL, and paste it into your reader to display the content in RSS.

I am now studying those feeds, because I saw on almost all the submission websites, that you can use them.

1 - Before making big bucks on the web, you will loose. Yes, you will loose time, money( a lot, or less if you are smart), you will loose on your sleeping time...

So what you got to do is to fail fast, so you progress as a result as your mistakes.
Don't be afraid to fail, just go on. Release crap, and get it better and better, KAIZEN(Japanes word = get it better and better) it.

2 - If you are a home worker, you need a certain discipline, don't listen to what people say about working only 1 hour or 10 mn everyday, and you will make a fortune online...
Stop. The online world and offline learn or not so different:
To Succeed, The Secret is learning, then do; do then learn to do it even better...

Also, you must try to fix a program, and stick to it. It is really difficult, because you don't have a Boss to tell you what to do and when to do it.

What you can do then?
Imagine a Virtual Boss, Like Dave said, he is working from 8am to 4pm, with his imaginary boss...

Step # 1:

For Ali: When you are logged on in your member area, in your account manager, scroll down and you will see a small house, click on: manage hosting (under Hosting and Domains).
you are now in your website hosting account manager.

You will be asked then to choose a domain name(see my previous post if you don' t know what is a domain name), then you will choose the wizard to build your website easily(if you are a newbie and don' t know HTML), otherwise, you can take the file manager if you are advanced webmaster.

Step #2:

Well, in wizard now, follow the rules step by step, and you shouldn 't have any problem.

You will have 2 choices:
1/Build your website from Theme (Quick build from themes).
2/Build your website from layouts ( custom build from layouts).
Choose the one you prefer, and follow the steps.
